Divisioning & Results
Fair racing is at the heart of Special Olympics. Divisioning makes sure every team races against teams of similar ability.
How divisioning works
Before the medal races, all teams sail divisioning races. Based on those results, teams are grouped into divisions of similar ability. Medals are then decided within each division, so a strong race counts for every team, in every division.
That is what makes a Special Olympics regatta different: nobody sails for a lost cause. Every start matters.
